Overview:  Lisan students come from a wide range of backgrounds and nationalities. Everybody in your group will start from the same level as you. This Summer Arabic Intensive Program is ideal for you if you are beginning to learn Arabic language, or if you already have some knowledge of Arabic, but need to refresh grammar and vocabulary. This program has been designed meticulously to aid non-native speakers in learning the Arabic language from aspects relating to culture and common themes in everyday life.

What: Instruction in Arabic language is provided for non-native speakers, with a focus on conversation and reading to benefit university students and those wishing to communicate in Arabic.

Lisan Curriculum and learning materials

Lisan owns the “Lisan Series for Learning Arabic” curriculum that is considered the most effective and useful in the world in teaching the Arabic language, as it is taught in more than 20 countries with distinction in its outcomes and methodology. Lisan harnesses this curriculum and all the educational materials it develops in the service of its programs.

First Step

I can say and understand a few words and limited expressions in Arabic.

2

Beginner

I can communicate simply and understand in familiar situations, but only with some difficulty.

3

Elementary 

I can make simple sentences and can understand the main points of a conversation but need much more vocabulary.

Pre-intermediate

I can speak and understand reasonably well and can use basic tenses but have problems with more complex grammar and vocabulary.

Intermediate

I can communicate without much difficulty but still make quite a lot of mistakes and misunderstand sometimes.

Upper Intermediate

I speak and understand Arabic well but still make mistakes and sometimes people do not understand me clearly.

Pre-Advanced

I can use Arabic fluently but I have problems in understanding the literature, rhetoric and other more complex scenarios.

Advanced

I can understand Arabic language in literary scenarios, and debate and prove my points by making clear and coherent arguments with supporting evidence.

Upper Advanced

I can use Arabic fluently in understanding, discussing and speaking confidently in a plethora of contexts, including but not limited to literature and public affairs.

Method of learning

  • Teaching is conducted in small groups, with each group not exceeding 12 students
  • The learner's level of proficiency is determined before the program begins, and their learning journey commences with a precise curriculum that meausres their progress in the Arabic language at regular intervals.
  • Though instruction takes place in classrooms in groups, it also considers the individual needs of each learner.
  • Our courses are designed to help students progress in terms of content, linguistic and communicative skills, learning language, self-assessment, and optional end-of-level assessment.
  • The curriculum and educational materials are tailored for this program, and students are provided access to them on the Lisan platform, enabling them to access the materials from any device.
  • Each learner has their account on the Lisan platform to track their lessons online after the classes at the school have concluded.
  • There are 5 hours per day of contact learning in Lisan classes.

Fees:

  • The program costs $1100 USD, inclusive of all mentioned features. 
  • The program cost is $850, excluding accommodation and meals.
  • Additional weeks available, apply in the third week. 
  • Cost of each additional week is $299 USD, all services applied during the program.
