The Lisan Annual Program in Istanbul is a unique program delivered in the historic city of Istanbul. Designed and delivered by experts in the field of the Arabic Language, the program offers a classical curriculum, pairing it with the most contemporary methods for language acquisition. Its objective is to gradually build students’ command of Classical Arabic to the level required for an in-depth study of traditional Islamic disciplines.

This program runs in a partnership with Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University (FSMVU) in Istanbul.

Annual Program Outcomes:

The program is structured to provide a comprehensive understanding of the Arabic language, which is the core of learning Islamic studies. It aims to enhance your proficiency in the four key areas of language learning: reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

Reading: The program will expose you to a wide range of Arabic texts, encompassing both the rich heritage and contemporary works of the Arabic literary tradition. This includes classical texts that form the bedrock of Islamic tradition, as well as modern writings that reflect current thoughts and ideas in the Arabic-speaking world. By engaging with these texts, you will gain a deep understanding of the Arabic language in its various contexts, helping you to grasp complex grammatical structures and expand your vocabulary. This immersion in the heritage, tradition, and contemporary aspects of Arabic literature is a key component of our program.
Writing: You will be guided to express your thoughts, ideas, and arguments effectively in Arabic. This includes training in writing essays, reports, and research papers in Arabic.
Listening: The program includes listening exercises using audio materials from various sources. This will help you to understand different accents and dialects and improve your comprehension skills.
Speaking: You will engage in regular discussions and presentations in Arabic, which will boost your confidence in speaking the language and help you to articulate your thoughts clearly and fluently.
